BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Annastasia Hicks- President
Annastasia is the manager at Ashford Acres Inn. She graduated from Centre College in 2015 and Harrison County High School in 2011. She played soccer at Centre for four years. She also is the chairman of the dog park initiative in Cynthiana.
Eric Opland-Vice President
Eric is the Plant Manager for 3M Company in Cynthiana. He has been with 3M for 18 years in various manufacturing locations (Minnesota & South Dakota). He grew up in North Dakota, has a family including wife (Andrea) and 4 children; Kelby (12), Alexis (10), Isaac (9), & Brynlee(7). He also serves on the Lions Club and United Community Fund board in Cynthiana.
REBECCA JENKINS - Past President
Rebecca Jenkins is the Director of Human Resources for Harrison Memorial Hospital. Rebecca received her Masters Degree in Executive Human Resource Development from Xavier University. And, she was delighted when the opportunity came to work and serve in the community where she was born and raised. She and her husband, Tim reside in Cynthiana with their three children; Lauren (15), Jared (15), and Sierra (11). They are active members of Cynthiana Baptist Church and enjoy spending the weekends boating and camping. Rebecca is the past Board Chair for the Opportunity for Work and Learning (OWL) and currently serves on the OWL Foundation. This is her fourth year on the Chamber Board.
BRENT HOPTRY - Treasurer
Brent Hoptry is Chairman, President and CEO of Farmers Deposit Bank. Farmers Deposit Bank is a community bank serving Cynthiana, Carlisle, Paris and surrounding counties. Brent and his wife Diane moved to Cynthiana in 2012. Brent serves as President of the Cynthiana Harrison County Chamber of Commerce and is on the board of directors of Cynthiana Main Street. He is a member of the Lions Club and attends Indian Creek Christian Church.
Kristin is the manager of TCC/Verizon Wireless in Cynthiana. She also serves on the Community Events Committee in town and founded the Cynthiana Battlefields Association. Her and her husband love to participate in reenactments and travel across the country. This is her third year serving on the chamber board.
Manager, Member Accounting and Community Relations. - Blue Grass Energy Electric Cooperative, serving 55,000 members in 23 Kentucky counties. Offices located in Cynthiana, Nicholasville, Richmond, and Lawrenceburg. Carol has served on the chamber board for many years and served as Chamber Board President in 2007. She is also a member of the Cynthiana Lions Club.
Trish Jenkins is a Cynthiana native and the general manager/advertising manager of The Cynthiana Democrat and Harrison County Shopper. She serves on various boards within the community.
Kelly Kendall, Coordinator of Volunteer Services for Hospice of the Bluegrass. She has been with Hospice in her current position for 14 years and works with volunteers and fundraising activities. Kelly is very involved in many community endeavors. Member of Cynthiana Christian Church and Bel-Airs Bell Choir, Lions Club, Housing Authority Board, Family Resource Youth Service Center Board, HOSA Board, and member of the Licking Valley Singers. Kelly is married to Lee Kendall and has 2 children Laura (Josh) Ashbrook and Katie (Colin) Duffie. Her Family is very involved with sports and all love to play golf (especially Kelly).
Austin was born in Lexington but spent his childhood in Harrison Co. He graduated from HCHS in 2004 and then went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in General Dietetics. He then went on to attain his Masters Degree in Community Nutrition also at EKU. He is currently employed by the Harrison Co. Board of Education as the Food Service Director, and KCTCS and an Adjunct Instructor. In 2016, He became part owner of Maiden City Brewing Co. on Pike St.
Bonnie Pierce Teater, retired from Mississippi State University, is serving her first year on the Chamber board as the community representative. Bonnie is currently county treasurer for the Harrison County Extension Homemakers; president of the Harrison County Woman's Club; president elect of Beta Sigma Phi sorority; and serves on numerous committees of the Cynthiana Christian Church. She also volunteers for Hospice of the Bluegrass and Harrison Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
Karen Walters is a Quality Engineer for Bullard, a leading manufacturer of personal protective equipment and systems worldwide, headquartered in Cynthiana. She has been in the industrial manufacturing business for over 20 years with previous experience in both the automotive and medical device markets. She was born and raised in Harrison county and enjoys being involved in her church and spending "lake time" with her family. She also serves on the Harrison County Educational Foundation and is a charter member of Harvest of Hope, a communtiy outreach program.
Dominique is an employee of the Community Action Council. She has been with them for over four years. She is also the co founder of the S.A.F.E.T.Y. Alliance program, to help provide a stable environment for children. In her free time she loves diy projects, photography and crafting.
Rita is a nurse at Cedar Ridge Health Campus and the Co Owner of Country Grillin' Food Truck. Her family has lived in Harrison County for over twenty years. This is her first year on the chamber board.
JAMES SMITH - Mayor
James Smith is Mayor of the City of Cynthiana and a co-owner of the Rohs Opera House, a local cinema and theater. He is also a minister of Cornerstone Christian Church and is active in the Cynthiana Arts Council, the Rohs Theatre Company, and the Harrison County Ministerial Association. James was former Board President of the Chamber in 2014 & 2015. He was elected Mayor of Cynthiana in 2015 and will serve until December 2019.
ALEX BARNETT - County Judge Executive
Alex Barnett is currently serving his second term as Harrison County Judge Executive. He is a lifelong resident of Harrison County and an eighth generation farmer on the same land that his family settled in 1790. Alex is married to Michelle and they have two children; Ally(21) and Brandon(24).
Stephanie Burden- Cynthiana Main Street Program
Stephanie is the director of the Cynthiana Main Street Program. She is also the owner of Flower Depot. She is a Cynthiana native and married with two little girls. This is her second year on the chamber board.
